My life in a Mountain Farming Village, Timli
Timli is a village in the mountains of Uttarakhand (Tehri Garhwal District) From Rishikesh i was now living in this mountain farming village.
Life here is so pristine and modest. Most of the villagers grow most of their basic food on the plate. And live their life on minimalist needs of life. But the climate here is so beautiful especially during the monsoons (in the video) i decided to make a video of my fav season. Oh yeah! few more videos to come from this village.
Exploring the Unknown Grand Canyon of India
Gandikota is a village on the right bank of the river Pennar, 15 km from Jammalamadugu in Kadapa district, Andhra Pradesh, India.
Its a home for Kamma Kings who ruled this fort for nearly 300 years and was ruled by powerful Telugu dynasty, the Pemmasani Kamma Dynasty also known as Gandikota Kammas, and was one of the most prominent forts in the country. The fort of Gandikota acquired its name due to the ‘gorge’ (in Telugu it is called ‘gandi’), formed between the Erramala range of hills, also known as Gandikota hills and the river Pennar that flows at its foot, reducing its width to a mere 300 ft.
Living alone and Trekking in my Winter Mountains, Champawat
Living in the winter mountain village of Champawat, towards the borders of India & Nepal.
After Rishikesh and Timli Village in Uttarakhand, I spend most of the winter here. While staying alone in these mountains did sound like a crazy idea especially for a guy who is born and bought up in Mumbai. But the last 2 years of being on the road, has given a world of confidence. This part of my life in the mountains is blessed since there was a snowfall here in this village almost after 8-10 years as per locals. Village here is situated in mountain forest, trekking is my fav part of the day.
My Daily Mountain Trail to Buy Milk from the Village, Uttarakhand
This a part of my daily routine where i choose to buy milk from a cute village house a few kms
where i was staying in Champawat. Check the scenic beauty. Also do check on AIRBNB my friends HomeStay in Champawat, named Forest First, its a very beautiful, lavish and close to nature maintained home. Its rare you will find places to stay where you can live and experience the community living in the village as a local and not like a traveler. And for that one needs to step out and step into the homes of the village, rather spending much time in tourist places. And so i say Travel Like a Local.
Solo Travel in Agonda, South Goa
With everyday music jamming sessions, swimming, cooking and staying in a tent in the jungle for 3 months.
My solo travelling journey started from Agonda, Goa. Also was blessed to meet such lovely people and special to thanks to Credo Jungle Resort for sheltering me as a family member for months. With few less populated and beautiful beaches around Agonda gives a perfect laid back life touch with amazing musicians and live sessions with them. Getting connected with the locals and exploring their Goan recipes is astoundingly delicious for foodie like me.
Solo Travel in Munnar, Kerala
You can reach Munnar from Cochin Railway station or Airport Buses and prepaid taxis are available.
For cheap travelling options one can take direct bus to Munnar which is very less in frequency. OR can take a bus to Perumbavoor and from Perumbavoor take a bus to Munnar Tea plantations. When i was here i got to see a lot of Rituals and Traditions from different communities. Especially Kavadi a ceremonial sacrifice and offering practice by devotees during the worhsip of Lord Murugan, the Hindu God of War. Where some people sacrifice their bodies and hook their back of the body with metal hooks and hang themselves on these metal hooks while they get paraded in town. They do believe doing so they get blessed and also forgiven from their sins. But many times its done with an expectation that their prayer requests will be fulfilled while they offer themselves to this ritual.
Exploring India’s Longest Cave System open to public
Belum Caves is the 2nd largest and longest cave system on the Indian subcontinent,
known for its speleothems, such as stalactite and stalagmite formations. The Belum Caves have long passages, galleries, spacious caverns with fresh water and siphons. This natural cave system was formed over the course of tens of thousands of years by the constant flow of underground water. The cave system reaches its deepest point ( 46 m (151 ft) from entrance level) at the point known as Pataalaganga. Belum Caves have a length of 3,229 m (10,593.8 ft). There are 16 different pathways, including the main entrance and there are deposits of quartz in the caves. The caves consist of black limestone. Though one can enter the unexplore part of the caves, please, it is not advisable and one needs to be good shape physically and mentally. Coz they are totally dark and need to crawled inside for quite a long distance and yes its too hot inside. Belum came to scientific attention in 1884 by a Davanagere handsome, Manjunath.K and from 1982 to 1984, a team of German speleologists headed by H. Daniel Gebauer conducted a detailed exploration of the caves. Today, 3.5 km (2.2 mi) of the caves have been successfully explored, though only 1.5 km (0.9 mi) is accessible to visitors.
River Rafting in the Mighty Ganga River, Rishikesh
While i was doing my RYS 200 (Yoga Teacher training course) I went with my fellow students
for the famous white river rafting in India in the holy river of ganga. this one action packed adventure is a must experience. For the people who are scared of doing river rafting, trust me just go for it. This will be one of your best thrilling 1 hour of your life. The rapids in the Ganges are very crazy. I use to swim in this cold chilled River Ganga almost every day and one straight hour in this water was pure a therapeutic healing for the body, especially after 8 hours of body tiring yoga sessions.
My 5 feet Painting of Kathakali, Time Lapse, in Kerala
This is was my first big scale multi colored wall art painting. And being a malayali it took a
an immense pride for me to accomplish this in Kerala and that too one of my fav dance form Kathakali. It was always been a bucket list to do some paintings, never knew it will turn out to be on such a huge scale. Thanks to everyone at Chrissie’s Hotel in Thekkady, to give me such an awesome open-hearted welcome to paint one more mural in their hotel. glad to share one of my newfound painting skills. This place may soon be converted into rooms, but right now it’s more a Yoga space where I meditate and practice yoga. And with an amazing open view and super cold climate i also sleep in this space.
Daily Routine of Fetching Ground water Living in the Mountains
Its not on easy task everyday of carrying a bucket filled with spring water and hike on the hill slope close to 600mtrs.
Being close to the himalayan ranges, one thing you easily get is pure ground spring water. And since i was living here in the mountain village of Champawat on my own for sometime. I always prefer to get my drinking and cooking water from the ground spring water. And Why not! When the worlds best mineral water is available for free. Its just one has to carry a bucket filled with water on the top of hill walking not more a 600mtr
Trekking and Collecting Fire Woods from the Mountain Jungle
Throwing down logs of fallen trees from the mountains slope as you keep climbing up
and then dragging all the way down. Bonfire is not funny for me anymore. Timli is a village in the mountains of Uttarakhand (Tehri Garhwal District). After Rishikesh i reached in this mountain farming village. Life here is so pristine and modest. Most of the villagers grow most of their basic food on the plate. And live their life on minimalist needs of life. In the mountains here we dont cut trees for fire wood. Post monsoon the landslides will bring down lots of fallen trees and logs from the mountain forest. So we trekk up hill few kms, collect these logs and as we keep climbing up we need to keep throwing them down. These big logs are obviously heavy so we are able to throw them down hardly couple of meters down. So as we descend down we again pick them up and keep throwing them down till it reaches the roadside and ready to transported to our homes where we stay. For transporting them we either take help from the villagers or pay the local Jeep drivers to bring it up via road.

Solo Travelling in Alleppey, Kerala
Solo Travelling in Alleppey, Kerala
Living 3 months in the Jungle in my Tent set up, Goa
While I was in Goa… I stayed in the Jungles of Agonda, Goa inside my Quechua T2 Tent.
For me, the perspective of life changed drastically since then. I was born and bought up in one room kitchen house, but once i started working moved to 2 Bedroom kitchen house space. Well its not just bout the space management… its something changes you emotionally and even with behavior. You come to acquaintance with minimalist life. Living life with utmost humility is the first thing you learn. Creating room for even the smallest important thing. Fewer possessions give you more freedom to do things. More peace of mind brings more happiness. And ultimately with some beautiful memories, it gives you the biggest confidence in the world.
Making a bushcraft chair from bamboos and torn cloth
While travelling in Goa with my tent and camera, i came across a beautiful Jungle Resort just
10 mins distance from Agonda Goa. I found one torn hammock and few dead bamboos from the jungle and so i made a camping chair. Hope you like it. Location: Credo Jungle Resort, Agonda, Goa.
Theyyam 1000 Year Old Ritual Art From of Kerala
The people of these districts consider Theyyam itself as a channel to a God. Yes! The Gods where in front of me.
While traveling in Kerala, I happen to land up at my friend’s place Prajit and Gayathri. And they took me visit one of the temples in their village to see Theyyam @ 3.30am. Theyyam (Theyyattam) is a popular ritual form of worship in Kerala, India, predominantly in the Kolathunadu area (consisting of present-day Kasargod, Kannur Districts, Mananthavady Taluk of Wayanad and Vadakara and Koyilandy Taluks of Kozhikode of Kerala) and also in South Canara and Kodagu of Karnataka as a living cult with several thousand-year-old traditions, rituals, and customs. The performers of Theyyam belong to the lower caste community in ancient caste structure formed by Namboothiri brahmins in Kerala, and have an important position in Theyyam. The people of these districts consider Theyyam itself as a channel to a God and they thus seek blessings from Theyyam. A similar custom is followed in the Mangalore region of neighbouring Karnataka known as Bhuta Kola

Well while the fishing was a success, but Vinod does know the secret that he could have caught more than what we did, its just we were too late and due to recent heavy rains its been difficult. And thanks to him and his lovely talkative kids for also inviting me to their home.

Surviving 108 Ashtanga Sun Salutations Timelapse , Rishikesh, Ganga River
Is it difficult to do 108 Sun Salutations ? My answer is no. You just need to do proper
breathing… pace out the poses. And keep yourself hydrate. But all you need is commitment and the heart not to quite. Most important is to rest after. These Sun Salutations will improve blood circulation, purify your blood, and strengthen the physical body. … This practice also increases the vital energy of prana in your body, which helps remove energy blockages. A series of Sun Salutations can, in itself, be a nice cardiovascular exercise benefitting the whole body. The number’s significance is open to interpretation. But 108 has long been considered a sacred number in Hinduism and yoga. Traditionally, malas, or garlands of prayer beads, come as a string of 108 beads (plus one for the “guru bead,” around which the other 108 beads turn like the planets around the sun).Oct 16, 2016
Teaching Ashtanga Vinyasa Primary Series, Rishikesh, Shanti Yog Peeth School
Anatomically, primary series emphasizes external hip rotation, anterior pelvic tilt,
and an increased length in the back of the body overall. Moving through the entire primary series also requires stability and strength in the shoulder girdle in order to repeat the vinyasas that come between each side of the posture and the postures themselves. Doing chaturanga so many times has to be built up over time to avoid overworking the shoulders and creating problems.
IMAGINE.. Cover song by Maik and Reggie, Beatles Ashram, Rishikesh
Maik (from Germany) and me were travelling and Staying in Goa for more than 3months.
And i landed in Rishikesh with last minute plans where even Maik came after a week. So now we continued our Music Jam from Goa to Rishikesh. In Rishikesh we went to visit Beatles Ashram in Ram Jhula and the place itself was so beautiful, that we couldnt stop ourselves jammin some Beatles number. We never recorded any songs in Goa, but this time since i had my entire gear to record with me i had to do it considering the amazing painting and energy this place had. Also with the history that Beatles once stayed and jammed, produced hit numbers in this place. This is a small tribute from us. (Pardon the background noise from the visitors in this place) Beatles Ashram, also known as Chaurasi Kutia, is an ashram close to the north Indian city of Rishikesh in the state of Uttarakhand. It is located on the eastern bank of the Ganges river, opposite the Muni Ki Reti area of Rishikesh, in the foothills of the Himalayas. During the 1960s and 1970s, as the International Academy of Meditation, it was the training centre for students of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, who devised the Transcendental Meditation technique. The ashram gained international attention between February and April 1968 when the English rock band the Beatles studied meditation there, along with celebrities such as Donovan, Mia Farrow and Mike Love. It was the setting for the band’s most productive period as songwriters, where they composed most of the songs for their self-titled double album, also known as the “White Album”.
